A man armed with a sawed-off shotgun robbed a Burger King in east Wichita on Monday night, police said.

The man came into the restaurant at 528 N. Oliver, near Central, at about 9:40 p.m. Monday and ordered an employee to open the store safe, Lt. Doug Nolte said.

He wore a blue bandanna over his face, the employee told police. He also wore dark clothing and white gloves. He left the area on foot.

Police are studying surveillance video both of the robbery and of customers who had been to the store previously, Nolte said, because the employee thinks the robber had been to the restaurant before.

Neither employee present at the time of the robbery was injured, Nolte said.
