Thaworn Wiratchant overcame a late-round deficit and downed Richie Ramsay on the first playoff hole Sunday to win the Hero Indian Open.
Wiratchant, who also won the event in 2005, trailed by two strokes entering the final hole before carding a birdie to finish at 5-under-par 66.
Ramsay then 3-putted the last for bogey and a 68, sending the golfers to a playoff at Karnataka Golf Association knotted at 14-under 270.
After sending his tee shot into the water, Ramsay fired his third over a thicket of trees and landed the ball on the back of the green.
Wiratchant, meanwhile, hit the fairway with his first, but found a greenside bunker on his approach. He escaped to about 10 feet and 2-putted for bogey, which was good enough for the victory when Ramsay missed his bogey putt.
It was the third Asian Tour win of the season for Wiratchant, who moved to the top of the Order of Merit in the process.
Panuphol Pittayarat shot a final-round 67 and finished in third place at 13- under 271, while Shiv Kapur (66) took fourth at 12-under.
Anirban Lahiri (67), Arnond Vongvanij (69) and Jaakko Makitalo (71) tied for fifth at 10-under.
