Wichita State volleyball wins sixth straight

Chelsey Feekin had 12 kills, 10 digs and 38 assists as Wichita State’s volleyball team beat Evansville 3-1 (26-24, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18) on Saturday in Evansville, Ind. The Shockers have won six consecutive matches.

It was Feekin’s second triple-double of the season.

Emily Adney had 13 kills for WSU, Ashley Andrade had 12 kills and a .375 attack percentage. Jackie Church had 24 digs, and Ashlyn Driskill had eight kills and four service aces.

WSU led 10-3 in the opening set, but Evansville rallied to make it 16-16, and later took a 22-21 lead. A Sam Sanders kill gave WSU a 24-23 lead, and the set ended on an Evansville error.

WSU trailed 16-11 in the second set. The Shockers went on a 10-4 run to take the lead, and ended the set on an ace by Driskill.

Evansville won the third set, scoring the final four points.

WSU went ahead 11-4 in the fourth set, and never allowed Evnasville within three points the rest of the way.

The Shockers play host to MVC-leader Northern Iowa on Friday at Koch Arena.
