Will Rogers said, “Why pay to go to the circus when you can watch Congress for free?” How true. Look at the clowns we have in Congress and our state Legislature.

This election is all about jobs. Forget all the speeches, sound bites, tweets and talking heads. Voters need to remember that both America’s Great Depression and Great Recession occurred under Republican administrations – Hoover and Bush. Job creation or job destruction? Your choice.

Voting for President Obama is as sensible as moving next to the airport and complaining about the noise.

Obama is a man of many words, but he is not a man of his word.

Ever notice how failure is never Obama’s fault? Someone else is always to blame.

People who hate the rich should look in the mirror and see who’s holding them back. It takes determination, long hours and much hard work to become successful. You can’t expect everything with no effort.

What the Kochs and their fellow billionaires want is to replace democracy with a plutocracy.

It would be easier to believe in the Kochs’ sincerity if they would make full disclosure before Election Day of all the money they pour into elections all over the country. Their anonymity conveys the perception of power brokers rather than supporters of free enterprise.

If Charles Koch had run for president and been elected, this country would not be in the mess it is in financially. This country would be very wealthy, and not $16 trillion in debt, and people’s attitudes and morals would be much more positive.

The Koch family has done more good than anyone in the United States and our government. You Koch haters are jealous because you aren’t successful and you want their money, but you aren’t smart enough to know how to get it.

So the Bombardier Learjet strikers can make $350 a week just holding a sign all day. I work at a small business for 50 hours a week and take that much home.

Kansas City, Mo., has a Power and Light District that is safe, clean and fun, with bars, food and music. The main differences between it and Old Town are lights and police. We can’t afford not to do the same.

Don’t like school lunches? Pack your own lunch and take it to eat at school. Problem solved.

Please leave Richard Crowson be (Oct. 16 Letters to the Editor). His editorial cartoons help me to weather the constant barrage of right-wing claptrap, especially in Opinion Line.
