Bank of Kansas parent reverses loss in third quarter

The holding company of Bank of Kansas said Thursday it had reversed its year-ago quarterly loss.

Southwest Bancorp, based in Stillwater, Okla., said its net income for the third quarter of 2012 was $5.9 million compared with a loss of $9.5 million in the same quarter of 2011.

For the first nine months of the year, the company said net income was $15.2 million, versus a $10 million loss in the first nine months of 2011.

The holding company of the South Hutchinson-based bank and Stillwater National Bank & Trust said its assets as of Sept. 30 were $2.2 billion and total loans were $1.5 billion.
