The holding company of Rose Hill Bank said Wednesday it is acquiring a western Kansas bank.
American State Bancshares, based in Great Bend, did not disclose financial terms of its acquisition of First National Bank of Holcomb.
“This acquisition will increase our presence in the Garden City market and fits well with our strategic direction,” said Don LacKamp, American State CEO, in a news release.
The Finney County bank has $56.5 million in assets.
American State is a $650 million holding company with two other bank charters, American State Bank & Trust and People’s Exchange Bank. Including Rose Hill, the three banks operate 14 branches in central, south-central and western Kansas.
The acquisition is awaiting regulatory approval. American State said in the release that it expects the Holcomb bank deal to close before the end of the year.
