Medicare open enrollment begins

The open enrollment period for Medicare coverage for 2013 started Monday and will continue until Dec. 7, according to Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Anyone receiving Medicare can change their health and prescription drug coverage for next year if they are unhappy with their current plan. Those who do not wish to change their plan will not be required to do anything.
