Wichita police are investigating whether a 3-month-old infant with a broken leg was abused over the weekend.

Parents brought the infant to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis on Sunday with a broken femur, Wichita police Lt. Doug Nolte said Monday.

Investigators were called in because the child had suffered “an abusive type injury,” said Lt. Jeff Weible from the Sedgwick County Exploited and Missing Child unit. No arrests have been made, police said.

The girl was born in July, Nolte said.
