MIAA

No. 1 Pittsburg State (5-0, 5-0 MIAA) vs. No. 7 Northwest Missouri (5-1, 4-1) at Arrowhead Stadium, 4 p.m. – Pittsburg State beat Northwest Missouri twice last season, 38-35 in the fall classic on a 26-yard field goal by Chase McCoy as time expired, and 41-16 in the NCAA Division II quarterfinals. Reigning MIAA defensive player of the year Nate Dreiling leads the Gorillas with 47 tackles and two interceptions.

Lindenwood (5-1, 4-1) at No. 21 Emporia State (6-0, 6-0), 2 p.m. – The Hornets, off to their best start since 1988, get a big homecoming test against Lindenwood, then travel to Truman before a three-game stretch to end the regular season against No. 4 Missouri Western at home, at No. 7 Northwest Missouri and at No. 19 Washburn.

No 24 Tabor (4-2, 3-1 KCAC) at Bethany (2-4, 1-3), 1:30 p.m. – The Bluejays are a surprise contender for the KCAC title, and they’ve got their running game to thank for it. Junior James Monroe leads the KCAC with 637 rushing yards and five touchdowns and sophomore Simon McKee is third with 611 yards and nine touchdowns.

Jayhawk

Independence (3-4, 1-4 Jayhawk) at No. 12 Hutchinson (5-1, 4-0), 7 p.m. – The Blue Dragons have the top passer (Luke Barnes) and top rusher (Terrell Lane) in the league and get to face the worst defense in the league, as the Pirates are giving up 40.7 points and 480.1 yards. Barnes, a Troy transfer, has thrown for 2,056 yards, 25 touchdowns and two interceptions. Lane, a 5-foot-11, 226-pound sophomore from Norton, has rushed for 976 yards and 11 touchdowns.
