The Good Neighbor Fund of Spirit AeroSystems has donated $50,000 to the Children Miracle Network Hospitals Hearing Aid Fund for pediatric patients, Via Christi Health announced Wednesday.

The donation will go toward hearing aids for children whose families are otherwise unable to pay for them.

The Good Neighbor fund is an employee-run, nonprofit that allows Spirit employees to contribute to organizations in Kansas and Oklahoma. The distribution of funds is determined by an employee-elected board.

The Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Via Christi serve 64 counties and help cover needs of children and their families who are not covered by insurance. They work with six regional Kansas hospitals and foundations: St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Medical Center Foundation in Great Bend, Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, William Newton Healthcare Foundation in Winfield, Via Christi Hospitals in Wichita and Hays Medical Center in Hays.
