A memorial fund has been set up for the family of Taylor Sowell, the 19-year-old mother who was killed Saturday when her car was struck by a train in Harvey County.

Donations may be sent to the Taylor Malek Sowell Memorial Fund at Legacy Bank, 514 N. Commercial, Sedgwick, KS. 67135.

Her husband, Dylan, 20, remains in Wesley Medical Center after undergoing surgery to repair two broken legs. Their 8-month-old daughter, Laken, was with a babysitter at the time of the accident.

Kyle Malek, 17, Taylor’s brother, sustained a concussion in the accident.

Taylor and Dylan are graduates of Sedgwick High School, but they recently moved to Newton. She was a student at Bethel College.
