Wichita Police: attempted abduction of girl walking to school

A 13-year-old girl walking to school on Monday morning told police two men in an SUV attempted to abduct her at knifepoint, according to police.

At 7:20 a.m., dispatchers received a call about the attempted abduction near Funston and Mosley in south Wichita.

The girl told police that she was able to get away after one of the men grabbed her by the arm and one held a knife on her. She was able to wriggle free and went home, police said.

Police are looking for the two men, who fled in a white SUV with a large body and tinted windows. They were last seen heading south on Mosley.
