A 41-year-old Wichita man was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder in the weekend death of his 38-year-old girlfriend.

Bond for Anson R. Bernhardt was set at $250,000, and a preliminary hearing was scheduled for Oct. 17.

The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office said Amber Kostner’s body was found Sunday in a ditch across the road from Campus High School in the 2100 block of West 55th Street South. Investigators have not released a motive or cause of death.
