Kansas’ Angel Goodrich was named to the preseason All-Big 12 women’s basketball team, the conference announced Wednesday.

Goodrich, a 5-foot-4 senior who scored 27 points to help KU to an upset of Delaware in the NCAA Tournament’s second round last season, was joined on the team by Baylor’s Brittney Griner (preseason player of the year) and Odyssey Sims, Iowa State’s Chelsea Poppens and Oklahoma’s Aaryn Ellenberg.

Honorable-mention picks included Kansas State’s Brittany Chambers and KU’s Carolyn Davis.

Texas Tech’s Jackie Patterson (Hutchinson Community College) was named preseason newcomer of the year, and Baylor’s Alexis Prince was named freshman of the year.
