The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found near 55th South and Meridian.

The woman’s body was discovered at around 10:15 a.m. Sunday morning. The office is investigating it as a suspicious death. Debris was found along 55th South near where the body was located, said Lt. Jay McLaurian with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office.

“This morning deputies received a call. They came to this area and found an unidentified adult white female that was in the south ditch,” he said. “A person driving by saw the body.”

Law enforcement investigators remained on the scene much of Sunday morning and early afternoon interviewing neighbors and walking the fields and grounds near Campus High School.
