Two men were beaten on Washington next to Old Town early Friday morning, police say.
A 29-year-old man called 911 when he saw a 19-year-old man being beaten in the 200 block of North Washington at about 2 a.m., Lt. Steve Kenney said.
The victim told police he was approached by a group of men, one of whom asked him for a cigarette. When the victim said he had none, Kenney said, a man attacked him and took his wallet.
When the older man tried to come to his aid, he was attacked and beaten as well.
