Semi driver killed in rollover in Harper County

A Hazelton man is dead after his semitruck overturned Wednesday afternoon near Anthony.

James H. Lewis, 67, was driving a 1982 Peterbilt eastbound on K-2 when the truck left the road, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol accident report. Lewis overcorrected when he tried to return to the highway, causing the semi to roll over in a ditch.

The wreck happened at 12:25 p.m. about 31/2 miles west of Anthony, located in Harper County.

The Highway Patrol reports Lewis was towing a jack trailer at the time of the accident.
