Boy on bicycle hit by car in south Wichita

A 12-year-old boy has been taken to a local hospital after being hit by a car while riding his bike early Tuesday morning, authorities said.

The boy was hit by a white car while riding in the area of Seneca and 79th Street South, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. The collision occurred at 6:49 a.m.

The boy was taken to Via Christi Hospital on East Harry for evaluation. Police are talking to the driver of the car.
