Julien Brun became the sixth amateur to win on the European Challenge Tour Sunday when he captured the ALLIANZ Golf Open Toulouse Metropole.
Brun, who attends Texas Christian University, only posted a 1-under 70 on Sunday, but it was enough for the victory. He finished at 13-under 271 and bested Matteo Delpodio, who also shot a 70 on Sunday, by a single stroke at Golf De Toulouse-Seilh.
Brun, the third-round leader after three straight 67s, played the opening nine even thanks to two birdies and two bogeys. He birdied the par-4 12th to reach 13-under par.
Delpodio bogeyed the 16th to fall two back with just two to play. He birdied the 17th to get within one, but parred the last to stay at 12-under par.
Brun parred his final six holes to hang on for the victory.
Eddie Pepperell carded a 3-under 68 and finished third at minus-11.
Michael Lorenzo-Vera shot a 2-under 69 on Sunday and came in fourth at 10- under par.
