A Potwin woman suffered head trauma and other injuries after she rolled an all-terrain vehicle in Butler County, authorities say.

A passerby found the 50-year-old woman pinned under the ATV about 5:30 p.m. Saturday on northwest 100th Street and Adams Road, near Potwin, Butler County sheriff’s Sgt. Luke Grimes said. That person lifted the vehicle, freeing her, he said.

The woman was traveling westbound on 100th when she lost control of the ATV, Grimes said.

The woman was transported to Wesley Medical Center, possibly in critical condition, with injuries to her head, leg and hip, he said.

Authorities don’t know yet what caused the crash, but Grimes said alcohol may have played a role.
