Two young girls riding on a bicycle in Paola , Kan., were struck by a driver in a sport utility vehicle about 4 p.m. Friday.
Emergency crews provided first aid at the scene in the 400 block of East Osage Street before the girls were taken by air ambulances to area hospitals. Police did not know their condition Friday night.
The driver of the SUV stopped and the accident is under investigation.
