The Kansas Heart Hospital will hold free, community-wide CPR training and blood pressure checks Saturday in northeast Wichita.

People can stop by the hospital from 10 a.m. to noon for hands-on training in life-saving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including hands-only methods and those for adults and infants. Instructors will also give lessons in Automated External Defibrillator (AED) use and responding to choking victims.

CPR and first aid certification will not be available at the event.

The hospital is offering a Kids Zone, where children can see the inside of a fire truck and ambulance and talk to Wichita firefighters and EMS personnel. Snacks will be provided.

Kansas Heart Hospital is at 9350 E. 35th St. North, near Webb Road.

Those interested in the training are asked to register at www.heart.org/wichita or by calling 316-265-4238. The event is presented by the hospital, Cardiovascular Consultants of Kansas and the American Heart Association.
