VERSAILLES, Mo. | An arrest has been made in an attack on two cats who were shot in the neck with arrows in mid-Missouri.

The Humane Society of Missouri announced the arrest Wednesday, but the name of the suspect was not released pending the filing of formal charges.

The cats named Patches and Licorice were found injured in Versailles on Sept. 10. Both are recovering at a veterinary clinic in Morgan County, Mo., though Patches may lose a leg.

Humane Society officials say they are hopeful that both cats will recover and be adopted.
