A Sedgwick County Jail inmate with a chronic medical condition died Monday night at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis, the Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.
Craig Brittain, who would have turned 51 on Tuesday, had spent most of the past three weeks in the hospital, Capt. Sharon Willits said. He had re-entered the hospital Monday morning and died shortly after 9 p.m.
Brittain had been in jail since March on a parole violation. He had been convicted of eight charges dating back to 1993, including burglary and theft, according to state records.
