A man told police he was knocked out and robbed as he was walking home early Monday morning after a day of drinking.

The attack happened at around 1 a.m. in the 200 block of North Waco, the 45-year-old man told police. He heard someone say “Give me your money!” and then he was hit from behind, Lt. Joe Schroeder said.

When he regained consciousness, his shoes and socks and money were gone. He walked to the Sedgwick County Jail and reported the crime, Schroeder said. The victim was taken to Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis for treatment.

He had been drinking with a group of friends at Eighth and Waco and was walking to his home near Pawnee and Meridian, the man told police.
