A possible sales tax increase to support city transportation and the Wichita Transportation Department’s budget are expected to top discussions at a bus meeting, set for Monday in downtown Wichita.

Officials from the department and the Wichita Transit Advisory Committee will discuss the budget and the tax proposal before Wichita Independent Neighborhoods, a grassroots nonprofit serving local neighborhoods.

The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at United Way of the Plains, 245 N. Water. It is open to the public.

A question-and-answer session will follow the presentation.
