Five children have been placed in protective custody after a school nurse noticed bruises on twin boys at Gordon Parks Academy on Wednesday. The students said the injuries were caused by their foster parents, police said.
The 6-year-old twins are the oldest to be taken to the Wichita Children’s Home, Lt. Doug Nolte said. A 7-month-old boy is the youngest. A 2-year-old boy and 4-year-old girl were also placed in protective care.
The twins had bruises “on various body parts,” said Lt. Jeff Weible of the Exploited and Missing Child Unit, which is investigating the case.
No arrests have been made at this point, police records show.
