A 35-year-old man told police he was robbed and beaten by a group of strangers outside O’Malley’s Irish Pub in southwest Wichita early Wednesday morning.
The victim told police four or five men jumped him outside the bar at about 1:25 a.m. in the 2400 block of West 31st Street South, Lt. Joe Schroeder said. They took his wallet, he said.
They then went into the bar, and he tried to talk the man he thought stole his wallet into returning it to him, Schroeder said. When he was unsuccessful, he finally called 911.
By the time police arrived, the group of men the victim said attacked him had left. All of them were in their 20s, he said, and all were about 6 feet tall. All had thin builds and wore dark clothing.
