ITC Holdings has named Kristine Schmidt as president of its subsidiary ITC Great Plains.
She will be based in Topeka and run the company’s operations in Kansas and Oklahoma.
ITC Great Plains is a utility that builds and operates transmission lines, including a just completed major line in western Kansas, and a soon-to-begin major project in southwest Kansas.
It is a subsidiary of ITC Grid Development, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ITC Holdings Corp., the nation’s largest independent electric transmission company.
Schmidt joins ITC from ESPY Energy Solutions, a Virginia-based energy consulting firm that she co-founded in 2009, where she worked closely with energy clients to identify emerging opportunities in transmission.
