Amtrak routes shouldn’t be extended. Service should stop wherever Amtrak doesn’t break even without government subsidies. This largesse has gone on for 40 years. Enough – we’re bankrupt. Same for airplane ticket subsidies.

After someone mentioned that the river needed to be mowed, I saw the city guys down there spraying the weeds where the river is low. What? I hope it was something like vinegar and garlic to keep the mosquitoes down, because I’d hate to think pesticides were used in our waterways.

A big welcome to the Democratic Party to Jean Schodorf. Like her family, all my ancestors were good Republicans. George W. Bush caused me to switch. The GOP is just not the same. It’s very sad.

Though he’s been gone four years now, George Carlin’s plea to “Keep your religion to yourself” is as pertinent today as ever.
