Opinion Line Extra (Sept. 11)

I think I’m getting this tea party outfit figured out: They are people who hate socialism and government entitlements but are perfectly comfortable to live off unemployment benefits, Social Security and Medicare, because stuff like that doesn’t really count all that much.

We just had 368,000 people quit looking for jobs last month alone. They gave up because there are no jobs. On the economy, our president has failed.

Democrats can’t bring themselves to admit what the rest of us already know: Obama is a failure, just like Jimmy Carter.

I am praying Obama wins the election. If not, it is going to be very difficult to survive the next four years. It will be a nightmare for the poor and middle class to try to stay afloat. I feel the 2 percent are hoping that few do survive – less of the lower class to be bothered with.

Nov. 6 is a critical turning point. This country sadly lacks leadership. We need to keep America strong and great, and we need to keep the American dream alive for our children and grandchildren. We need to replace those in Washington who are mortgaging our future.

Addicts are encouraged to make every effort to get off their addiction. However, President Obama denies his problem and goes on spending as if there were no tomorrow. If this nation is to get out of gridlock, America needs to go on a diet, not continue on his caffeine buzz.

Obama will not be filing for unemployment benefits after the election, but Mitt Romney will still be looking for a job.

Kids living near the coast should have mandatory cursive writing classes, so they can hand-write a note and throw it in the ocean when Obama takes us under.

Who cares where Obama was born? It’s where he lives now that’s the problem.

A movie about Joe Paterno? Why? What a disgrace. The only good would be if the money made from it, if any, were used to compensate the abuse victims.

Replacement refs were not particularly good, but neither were they horrible. We still had football. Refs were earning about $5,500 per game, plus expenses and per diem. Half the country is out of work, and those morons get greedy. Let’s move on.

Maybe we could have a day or two of actual opinions. They should start calling this the Complain Line. Lighten up, people. Enjoy the day and your life a little.
