Wichita State volleyball completes successful weekend

Wichita State beat Texas State 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-17) on Saturday at the SMU Classic in Dallas. The Shockers won all three of their matches in Dallas.

Junior outside hitter Sam Sanders had 17 kills and hit .371 Saturday and was chosen MVP of the Classic. Junior setter Chelsey Feekin had 32 assists, 12 kills and seven digs.

WSU trailed early in the first set, then used a 7-1 run to pull even. The Shockers took control with two kills by Feekin, an ace by Emily Adney and a kill by Sanders made it 20-15.

Back-to-back kills in the second set by Sanders gave WSU a 21-18 lead, and she also had a kill on match point.

The Shockers took a 12-4 lead in the third set and cruised to victory.
