Boo Boo the Wallflower, a 7-year-old male beagle-pointer mix, is available for adoption from Kansas Humane Society.

I know how to sit and shake, so I’ll love to greet you once I get over a touch of shyness. I enjoy being petted and can show you all my favorite spots. Let's visit soon. I need someone to love.

Also available:

• Phoenix the Goofball, 6-year-old male pointer-German shorthair mix

I really am a gorgeous dog. I stand there like they do in those dog shows. I'm looking forward to having some happy fun with good friends. Are you going to be my best friend? I'll be yours.

• Conrad the Personal Assistant, 6-year-old male cat, domestic shorthair mix

You’re working on the computer? Let me press the keys. Reading the paper? I’ll hold the pages down for you. Watching TV? I’ll plop in your lap so you can pet me. I’ll help you with all your chores, and I’ll help you relax when we’re done. You’ll wonder how you ever managed without me.

• Laney the Personal Assistant, 3 1/2-year-old female cat, domestic shorthair mix

I'm super-sweet and I love attention. I want to be near you and shower you with head butts and lots of rubs. I'm great at purring and would make you a purrfect lap kitty. I'm just a purrfect cat.

• Lu Lu the Guinea Pig, 2-year-old female guinea pig

Hi, I’m Lu Lu and I’m just hanging out. I make a great first-time pet and I’m easy to care for. I generally like being in my habitat, but I occasionally like running around in a room. I’m just the small bundle of fun you’ve been looking for.
