18th annual Mary Jane Teall Awards to recognize local theater excellence

The annual Mary Jane Teall Awards, which honor local actors and theater professionals, are scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 24 at Mosley Street Melodrama, 234 N. Mosley.

This is the 18th year for the awards, which recognize those involved in productions at places such as Music Theatre of Wichita, Cabaret Old Town, Crown Uptown and more.

Among those also recognized at the event will be Music Theatre of Wichita’s producing artistic director Wayne Bryan, who will be inducted into the Mary Jean Teall Hall of Fame, and Bob Curtright, who reviews local theater for the Wichita Eagle, who will be recognized for his dedication to the promotion of the performing arts.

Tickets are $10 at the door, and the event will include a cash bar. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
