A man was arrested after leading law enforcement officers on a lengthy vehicle chase spanning two counties, which finally ended shortly after 3:30 a.m. Thursday just north of Wichita.

The chase began shorty after 3 a.m. when a Harvey County sheriff’s officer attempted to pull the Ford Explorer over, according to KFDI Radio. The man sped south on Seneca, then east on 53rd Street to Broadway and on to I-135. Speeds reached 95 miles an hour, KFDI reported.

Sedgwick County authorities were alerted at 3:19 a.m. and deputies placed stop sticks in the 9300 block of North Seneca and again at 53rd Street North and I-135 near Park City, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said. The Explorer finally came to a stop just north of the junction linking I-135 with I-235 at 3:34 a.m.

The driver was arrested and transported to Newton, KFDI reported.
