Wichita State’s men’s basketball team will end the Missouri Valley Conference season in a familiar place — at Creighton.
Two matchups with the Bluejays, expected to be the MVC’s preseason favorite, highlight WSU’s MVC schedule. The Shockers, defending MVC champions, will be in Omaha for Creighton’s final home game for the fifth time since 1999, a game that often matches two of the MVC’s top teams.
The Shockers play Pittsburg State on Nov. 5 in an exhibition game. They open the season against North Carolina Central on Nov. 10 at Koch Arena. Road games against Virginia Commonwealth (Nov. 13) and Tennessee (Dec. 13) highlight the nonconference schedule. WSU will play Tulsa at home (Nov. 28) and Southern Mississippi at Intrust Bank Arena (Dec. 22).
WSU plays four games in the Cancun Challenge, two at Koch Arena before meeting DePaul (Nov. 21) and either Iowa or Western Kentucky (Nov. 22) in Mexico.
The Shockers open MVC play against Northern Iowa on Dec. 30 at Koch Arena. They play six of their first 10 conference games at home and end MVC play with three of their final four on the road.
