Saints beat Wingnuts

St. Paul scored five runs in the first two innings against Wingnuts starter Jeff Nadeau and went on to an 8-3 victory on Saturday night in St. Paul, Minn.

Joseph Spiers had the key hit, a three-run triple in the second inning.

The Wingnuts scored two runs in the fourth on a Saints error.

John Rodriguez had three of Wichita’s seven hits.

The Wingnuts’ final two regular-season games are Sunday and Monday. Wichita’s first-round playoff series will start Wednesday at either Grand Prairie or Laredo.
