At the close of business on Friday, Sedgwick became the fourth community that Colwich-based Legacy Bank serves.

That’s when Legacy’s ownership of Alliant Bank became official, said Frank Suellentrop, Legacy’s chief executive.

On Tuesday, signs at Alliant’s branch at 514 Commercial will be changed to Legacy. Sedgwick is north of Wichita and straddles the border of Sedgwick and Harvey counties.

Two of Alliant’s six employees will transfer to Legacy’s office at 3711 Ridge Road.

Suellentrop said the bank is looking to hire another teller there. And in mid-September, a new loan officer will join the Sedgwick branch and will be responsible for overseeing the bank’s commercial and agricultural lending from there.

There also will be new amenities for Alliant customers, Suellentrop said. Because of Legacy’s acquisition, Alliant customers will have access to mobile and Internet banking, cash management and Saturday banking hours.

“I think it’s a good opportunity for us,” Suellentrop said. “We’re excited to be there, and from everyone we’ve talked to and heard from in Sedgwick, they are excited about the change and additional banking services.”

Legacy entered into the deal with Alliant in June. It marks the first acquisition in Legacy’s 126-year history.

Not including the Alliant acquisition, Legacy has $260 million in assets, five branches and two free-standing ATMs in Andale, Colwich and Wichita.

Suellentrop said Alliant had about $14 million in assets. It was founded in 1894 as Sedgwick State Bank.
