MANHATTAN — Kansas State’s nonconference football schedule is set through 2014, with the marquee game of the bunch coming at home against Auburn.
Dates for the games are still being finalized, but K-State athletic director John Currie announced to fans that the Wildcats will host the Tigers in their third game of the 2014 season. It will serve as the return game in a home-and-home series that began in 2007 in Alabama. Auburn won that game 23-13.
K-State’s other five nonconference games over the next two years will all come against lesser known opponents at Snyder Family Stadium. The Wildcats will face North Dakota State, Louisiana-Lafayette and Massachusetts in 2013 and Stephen F. Austin, Texas-San Antonio and Auburn in 2014.
The six nonconference games mean that K-State will play eight home games next season and seven home games in 2014.
