Manufacturing in the Kansas City Federal Reserve district continued to improve in August, and producers’ optimism continued to edge higher, according to Reserve reports.
Prices were relatively stable, although the share of producers planning to raise prices increased, according to the data. Some manufacturers said drought has hurt their business through higher input costs and slower sales for agricultural-related products.
The Kansas City Federal Reserve district includes Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Oklahoma and Wyoming, along with the western third of Missouri and the northern half of New Mexico.
