Thousands of people in west Wichita were without electricity for about an hour early Wednesday morning, a spokesman for Westar Energy said.
An equipment failure knocked out power at about 2 a.m. for approximately 3,700 Westar customers in northwest Wichita, spokesman Shane Batchelder said. The geographic area afflicted with the outage was from 18th Street to 29th Street and from Ridge Road to Maize Road.
Service was restored at 2:58 a.m., Batchelder said.
