If you have any doubt that the Kansas Republican Party is a wholly owned subsidiary of the big oil companies, just look at the front page of Tuesday’s Wichita Eagle.
Missouri Rep. Todd Akin’s remarks about a woman’s ability to “shut that whole thing down” and not become pregnant if she is the victim of a “legitimate rape” were not only reprehensible, they were imbecilic. And this man wants to be a U.S. senator? Please.
Akin is the rule, not the exception, to what the Republican Party has become under tea party activists.
I saw that 63 percent of people are in favor of Mitt Romney releasing his past tax returns. According to Romney, they are small-minded, they should be asking about other big issues. Well, now we know that 63 percent of us are small-minded people.
Please read “Atlas Shrugged” by Ayn Rand, and then read about her life and what happened to her and her family as a result of all-controlling government. Then make comments about her and her philosophy. She was right about many things.

Nobody ever explains how new voter-ID laws would suppress any voters. Everyone in 2012 needs a photo ID for doing practically everything. Voting is a privilege, and you should at least be willing to sit for a photo.

We still have those ads on the TV for people who owe more than $10,000 in taxes, and they do not have to pay everything they owe. I owed just less than $2,000, and I had to pay all of it.
