Rep. Kevin Yoder needs to be dumped as one of our elected officials. For a freshman congressman representing our state, he showed surprising stupidity by swimming nude in Israel while on government business. Unbelievable. Forgive him. Just don’t re-elect him.

The arrogant public rant of misinformation in President Obama’s Saturday ridicule of the Romney-Ryan ticket was childish, self-serving and unbecoming a president of the United States. He has a host of lackeys. He should let them do his dirty work.

Mitt Romney may not oppose abortions for victims of rape. But where might such abortions be obtained, now that Republican legislatures have closed many, many clinics across the nation?

More than 45,000 concealed-carry licenses have been issued in Kansas so far, and nearly 10,000 in Sedgwick County alone. One nut job with a license violates the law, and the media want to start a discussion about revamping concealed-carry laws.

Guns, guns, guns. Guns everywhere. Why so many guns? Because people are so afraid. Why are they so afraid?

Being 65, I took advantage of one of Kris Kobach’s voter-ID rule exceptions. I presented my Kansas driver’s license from 1981. My official photo ID showed an athletic young man with lots of dark hair, a bushy mustache and wire-framed glasses. I’m still laughing.

If you can organize to get people to the voting booths, you can organize to get them photo IDs. You have had several months, and there is still time.

Voter-ID laws are constitutional. Get over it.

If you like how Gov. Sam Brownback has slowed down the DMV, you are going to love when all his budget cuts hit. And you voted more robots into the Legislature to help him slow down the line for driver’s licenses.

I hope that Brownback’s supporters are happy about the possible Kansas Gas Service rate increase. I know that I am not.

Brownback receives much undue media grief and hate. Meanwhile, his salary is $110,000 per year, while more than a dozen USD 259 employees make more than that.

After spending the weekend watching programs on TLC, I think they need to change the name of that network from The Learning Channel to The Exploitation Channel.
