Wichita police are investigating a vehicle break-in where thousands of dollars worth of surgical tools were reportedly taken.

A woman called police shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday saying she had left surgical tools inside her vehicle in the 1500 block of North West Street. She noticed the vehicle was broken into and a medical bag was missing.

Officers searched the area but did not find any clues, according to Sgt. Bart Brunscheen, spokesman for the Wichita Police Department.

One item in particular was noted missing: a surgical pack, an osteotomy bag, valued at $35,000.
