Wichita police seek man who robbed downtown Bank of the West branch

Authorities are searching for a man who robbed the Bank of the West branch in downtown Wichita on Tuesday morning.

The robbery occurred at 10:34 a.m. at the branch at 255 N. Main, a Sedgwick County dispatch supervisor said.

The suspect is a black male in his late 30s or early 40s, witnesses told police. He wore very dark blue jeans with a light or white cloth on the back pockets. He wore a black jacket, a dark green scarf, a black bandanna and a dark hat that was not a ball cap. He carried a dark green plastic bag.

He left the bank and walked south on foot.
