The Wingnuts continued to make the best of their long road trip, beating the Goldeyes 8-3 on Friday night in Winnipeg.

The Wingnuts haven’t played a home game since July 26 due to their annual displacement from Lawrence-Dumont Stadium during the NBC World Series. But Wichita has gone 9-5 on the road, with Saturday night’s game in Winnipeg all that remains before returning home.

Josh Lowey (13-3) went the first seven innings Friday and got the win. Jared Simon and Josh Dew each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.

Wichita broke a 1-1 tie with a four-run fourth inning that included five singles and a fielder’s choice that failed to record an out.

Mike Conroy and Wilberto Ortiz were each 3 for 4, sparking a 15-hit attack.
