The Wingnuts found themselves in an early seven-run hole and couldn’t climb out, losing 7-4 on Tuesday night in Lincoln, Neb.
Chris Cummins, a left-hander from Baker University making his professional debut, took the loss. He gave up four runs in the first — three on a homer by Mike Provenchar — and three unearned runs in the second. He followed that with four scoreless innings.
The Wingnuts pulled within 7-4 after five innings, but left men on in each of the final five.
