For still having a huge debt, General Motors sure is wasting a lot more money during the Olympics on a slogan that makes no sense. What does “Chevy runs deep” mean?
Up until a month or so ago, the president of the United States and the CEO of Chick-fil-A shared the same viewpoint on traditional marriage. I don’t remember the gay and lesbian community calling President Obama a hate-filled bigot, though.
No one asked me for a photo ID when I was drafted into the army.
If Wichita is getting a new airport terminal, why is it wasting money now doing construction? It’s like putting new windows in your house before you demolish it.
Why is the security at Mid-Continent Airport an issue? I greatly doubt that terrorists would decide to target this airport. Wichita tries so hard to be a major city. Sadly, it’s not.
Why is the city of Wichita so ashamed of its history? Despite an attempt to look historical by upgrading old downtown buildings with modern conveniences, it completely denies its origin as a frontier city by gutting Old Cowtown Museum’s budget.
I find it very disturbing that at a time when the city is cutting funds to so many deserving endeavors, a group can petition to have the city spend $2 million to $3 million to start putting fluoride in our water. Where will that money come from?
I recently moved here from Wisconsin. Why is Wichita 40 years behind the rest of the country when it comes to fluoridating the city water? Is it because of the Republican mentality that seems so prevalent in the area?
There are few things more infuriating than a private or public utility using both low consumption and high consumption as excuses to raise rates.
The Aug. 5 Local & State section had articles headlined “Senior centers face cuts” and “State candidates raise record amounts of cash.” Do you see something wrong with this picture?
If our Sedgwick County commissioners hadn’t given millions of dollars to airlines to fly in and out of Wichita, we would have money for the Judge James Riddel Boys Ranch, the senior centers and social services. It’s a shame they don’t try to take care of the whole city.
