The last time this country was this divided was over the issue of race (and I don’t mean the civil rights activity of the 1950s and 1960s). If we as a country can’t find a middle ground soon, we could be in for dark days similar to the Civil War.
You tea party supporters were very vocal in demanding that President Obama prove he is a U.S. citizen. Now, how about being just as vocal about demanding that Mitt Romney release his income-tax returns? What is he afraid we might find out about him and his finances?
It is absolutely amazing how the left is so concerned about how Romney handles his own money (that is capitalism, or what is left of it) while Obama is stuffing our tax money down a rat hole.
The reason Romney appears so desperate lately is that he is continually on the defensive, and most of what he is defending is indefensible.
Please step forward, all you businesses that were built by your own hands without help by receiving a loan from the government, bank or your parents.
No matter how many times the president tells you that he cut your taxes, he will more than make up for it starting Jan. 1 if he gets his way.
I get tickled listening to farmers complaining about the wind-farm deal being subsidized by Uncle Sam. The Environmental Working Group tells me farmers are on the welfare line as well. Let’s quit both, OK?
It bothered me a little that people who couldn’t qualify for a concealed-carry ID card could carry openly. But I realized that the open-carry law actually changes nothing. It only extends the usual Kansas open-holster rule to the few cities with ordinances against it. It only makes it uniform statewide.
There is a difference between “rights” and “freedom.” Your right to own guns infringes on my freedom to feel safe in public.
Has anyone ever bothered to ask why Wichita doesn’t have opulent YWCA buildings? (I mean the real reason.)
Use a temporary sales tax like the one used to pay for our arena so Wichita can once again have rail service. It would be a big boost to our local economy, and the city buses, taxis and hotels would see more customers. What’s holding this up?
