Wichita Wingnuts starting pitcher Josh Lowey struck out nine over seven innings to set a franchise record with his 12th win as the Wingnuts defeated the Sioux Falls Pheasants 3-2 at Sioux Falls, S.D.
Lowey improved to 12-3 wit hthe victory. Mike Conroy led the Wingnuts on offense, going 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run. Wichita got the difference it needed with two runs in the top of the eighth on a home run from Wilberto Ortiz and an RBI from Conroy.
